A school-based, culturally sensitive, suicide-prevention program for American Indian adolescents. Tailored to American Indian norms and values, the curriculum was designed to reduce behavioral and cognitive factors associated with suicidal thinking and behavior.
The Pathmakers program purchased several copies of Teresa LaFramboise’ textbooks to distribute to our Northern Humboldt Union High School District Indian Education partners and to interested educators and community partners as needed. Pathmakers staffed HSU students as mentors and provided this textbook as an additional resource for mentoring Native students and engaging youth in guided activities and conversations.
